Spencer got a couple of free tickets to a Jazz game because he played jr Jazz basketball this year, so Lani took him for a night out to the game which they enjoyed.
We've decided that every fast Sunday we should make a special treat. On this particular fast Sunday I was dreaming of this rasbperry white chocolate bundt cake, so that's what we made. It's rich, and sweet and delicious and I love all the frosting! My family doesn't love frosting so they'll share their excess with me, which I probably shouldn't accept, but I sometimes do :). I'm like a child when it comes to frosting, always going for the piece with the most on it.
Nora had a soccer tournament in Mesquite, NV. Scott and Annabelle went down with her. I had to stay home this time because Jane also had a gymnastics meet that weekend.
She did great and got second overall.
Brynn (who we all got to meet and love on our Buena Vida orphanage trip) asked Charles to Sweethearts and they had a fun day sledding, eating and later dancing!
Me and my buddy Spencer out taking Penny for a walk.
During the week we have him work through this kindergarten book to help with numbers and letters etc. He is catching on quickly.
And other Spencer news is that we got him to sleep on his own! He was sleeping with Lani in the basement in her room, but now he's switched to sleeping in the upstairs laundry room and he does quite well there; almost everyone else sleeps up there and there's a lot of foot traffic and noise with people going in and out which he prefers.
Nora and I made this Redbox Valentine's box together. It was fun to work on a craft with her. But I told her we're saving this again for next year :).
Annabelle had a soccer tournament in Mesquite the following weekend, around February 10, and this time I was able to go!
Annabelle's cute sideline fans. The weather was beautiful during the day, around 65, but once the sun started to set it got cold really fast.
The first night our family stayed in St George, though annabelle stayed with Alli and Kim in Mesquite as that's where the team was staying.
We stayed in St George because there's more to do there and we wanted to go for a hike. We did a hike in Snow canyon Friday morning.
Afterwards we got Acai bowls. I've decided that my favorite place to get Acai bowls is Rio Acai in South Jordan; I love all the variety in flavors and toppings they have and that you can pick as many toppings as you want for the same price.
We stayed at Rising Star hotel in Mesquite our second night. They have it set up for teams and I quite enjoyed that everyone had their own twin bed plus everyone had their own locker/cubby area with hooks to hang their things.
Nora had her cyst removed, Monday February 13th, from her left calf. It had gotten pretty big over the past couple of years and was painful to the touch after she played soccer or did physical activity of any sort.
They stitched her up good and sent her home with instructions to clean and bandage it twice a day for a few weeks and then once a day for awhile, which we're still doing now (It's currently March 26, as I'm writing this). She's healing up well, though she did have to take antiobiotics for 5 days just recently because it was getting ready and oozing stuff. She also had to take a break from soccer for a few weeks.
After her appointment we got sweet rolled tacos (icecream).
Valentine's Day I made everyone hear rice krispie treats and Scott and I wrote each of the kids, and each other, love letters.
We had crepes for dinner on Valentine's. We love crepes!
