Bear Lake day trip

We'd never been to Bear Lake until this past July, and now we've gone twice. We boarded Penny with our trainer Friday night and then drove up to Bear Lake Saturday morning and drove back home that evening. We left all electronics at home, besides my phone and Scott's which we used to play music during the car ride and for taking pictures. It was nice to have some focused family time, visiting and playing.

North Beach

We took our inflatable paddle board, and brought 2 more that I borrowed from a friend.

We ate Dinner at Zipz(I got dinner from a mexican restaurant across the street because I'm not a fan of burgers) in Bear Lake on the west side before heading home. And of course we all ordered shakes with our dinner. My favorite shake is a mix of reese's pieces and cookie dough (no chocolate).

Nora got braces, Gobblers knob

August 13 Nora got braces! This picture is a keeper! She still has her expander as well. The braces made her mouth sore the first day or two, but after that she was good.

We hiked Gobblers Knob via Butlers Fork. A covid19 silver lining is that because lots of activities were cancelled, we've had more time to explore places closer to home, including hiking.

Dog Training Class, Hokulia, Youth activities

Penny and I (and Scott came to over half) completed our month long, group dog training course. We found this super helpful. Also, when you're a client, you can use them to board your dog when you're away which is nice. We've already had Penny stay with them a couple of times when we went to Bear Lake for the day and to Pineview Reservoir.

The girls wanted Hokulia shaved ice. I wanted a clean kitchen and their bedrooms and extra rooms deep cleaned. So we worked out a deal.
Charles and Drew were looking for things to do and they decided on bowling. But Charles had no money. We offered to pay for them both if they allowed us to go along :). They agreed. Most of the family was out and about, but Jane, Dad and I bowled.

Me working on fetch with Penny.

I am one of the counselor's in Young Women's, I was put in at the beginning of quarantine in March. We met over Zoom for over a month, but lately we've been able to meet in person and do outdoor activities. We've done yoga, painted prayer rocks, had planning activities, played kickball, swam, tie dyed masks, did a talent show and more. Annabelle is in the class that I'm over which is fun.

Garnica Family Reunion 2020- Pineview Reservoir and Tie Dye

Our Garnica family reunion started off with Luis and my marathon on the Jordan River Trail Thursday(I already did a post about this, so no pictures this time).

Friday we went to Pineview Reservoir. It was our first time going there. We brought several paddle boards and kayaks, plus a couple of floaty things. We borrowed just about everything from neighbors, though we do have one inflatable paddle board that we bought a month ago from Costco.

We spent hours there just relaxing and hanging out with the family.
We also rented a jet ski for a couple of hours; we split the cost with my brother Fred. The teenagers loved this. I personally don't love the speed or feeling like I could fall off at any moment.

Ellen, Nora and Cora eating snacks and enjoying one another's company.
Saturday morning and into the afternoon, we tie dyed. We tie dyed shirt, socks, masks, swim covers and more.

Sunday I made a white chocolate raspberry bundt cake for Luis' birthday, which was the next day, on Monday, but I knew I'd be too tired Monday to make a cake, and I may not have time since we've be hiking Mt Timpanogos. 49! Next year will be the big 5-0.

Everyone sporting their tye-die gear for a family picture.
