Jane attended a BYU gymnastics, high performance sports camp this year. She was there from around 9-3/5ish depending on the day, Monday through Thursday. Next year if she goes again, she'll stay overnight in the dorms because that's a long drive back and forth to Provo twice a day, and she'll be paying for at least half of it, as it's expensive. She loved it though.
Speaking of earning money, Jane's been watching dogs and kids and cats this summer earning money for gymnastics (such an expensive sport!). On this particular day, Nora and I helped watched my friend's son for some of the day while Jane was at gymnastics camp, and then Jane watched him for the evening until his parents got back from activities day camp.
On the last day of camp Jane just had a half day of gymnastics camp at BYU, so Nora and I came down, hiked the Y, changed our clothes and then went back to campus to watch her and the other campers perform their gymnastics team dances.
The Y is only 2 miles round trip but it's steep! It gets your heart racing for sure!
Kim and I have been doing long runs together on the weekends for 5 or so years now. Usually we just run around our neighborhood, but our girls were practicing with the high school cross country team this summer a couple of days a week, and on this particular day they ran the trails in draper, so we went with and also ran that area which was a fun change of scenery.
Jane has watched lots of neighbors dogs over this summer break. One of our neighbors has a couple of chihuahuas. One of them liked us, but the other did not, and he refused to come off his pillow and out of the bedroom when we were there and would growl if we came near and try to bite us. He did go outside three times in four days to use the bathroom, but he'd just run right past us, go and run right back. But Jane got paid very well from this neighbor, and tipped well, so I think if they asked again she'd say yes :).
Charles kept with his electrician apprenticeship the entire summer. I wasn't sure before he started how itd go since he had to be there at 7am every morning, M-F, but he did it! He got better and more comfortable and faster as he went.
Nora attended a week long soccer camp at our new RSL stadium in Bluffdale. It was for 2 hours each morning. She enjoyed it; she especially liked the coaches.
The last week of June, a few days before my family arrived for the Garnica reunion, Jane, Annabelle and I went to girls camp! I only stayed for one night because it was Elisabeth's 18th birthday during that time and she wanted me to go down to BYU with her for a job interview and to spend the day together shopping and having lunch, and she had a birthday party that night at our clubhouse so I needed to be around for that. But I loved the 2 days I was there! I love hanging out with these girls and the leaders.

Little did I know this would be my last girls camp for awhile. A month after this camp I was released, along with the rest of the young women's presidency. We'd been in since before Covid( so 2 1/2 years), but I guess it just didn't seem that long. So sad. I'm grateful for the time I got to be in young womens, and that I was able to be there while Elisabeth, Annabelle and Jane all went through the program. I knew all their friends well because of my involvement. The day of my release I was called to be the Relief Society President. The calling is a bit intimidating as I haven't really had to work with adults ever in my church service(I've had every calling in primary from various teacher positions to music leader to counselor to president, and then working with the youth), but I am just going to give it my all and turn the rest over to the Lord and pray that's enough and that he'll fill in the gaps and make up the difference.
