Smith Family Newsletter 2008

We mailed out very few newsletters this year to save money on stamps and because it's convenient(convenience has become a pretty big factor now that we have three mobile little children). But for any who wish to read it we've decided to post it on our family blog, and that way it will also be published in our 2008 family photo journal.

Smith Family Newsletter-2008

Twas the sixteenth of February
When all thru the Smith house,
Came the ring of the home phone
Which got the family aroused.

Granny, our sitter,
Answered the call
And heard, “Annabelle’s arrived
And she looks like a doll.”

It’s amazing to me
All the changes that occur,
During that first year of life
It all seems to blur.

Beginning at 7 lb. 2 oz.
And twenty inches tall,
She’s easily doubled her weight
And her height hasn’t stalled.

Annabelle is curious,
Friendly, loving and sweet.
She enjoys food and crawling,
Attention and sleep.

With two older siblings,
Ages four and two,
Life’s busy and exciting
And sometimes feels like a zoo.

Now on to Charles,
Her nearly three year old brother,
Who is not quite so gentle
As a nurturing mother.

He jumps and tackles
And pushes and jabs,
Loves balls and sticks
Proving he’s a typical lad.

Elisabeth, our eldest,
Though still not very old,
Enjoys playing with friends
And singing solos.*

She loves to read
Or write a short tale,
And a favorite pastime
Is sending out mail.

Not much new with us parents,
Though the kids lives are varied,
We still love being together
After five years of being married.

We love baking and blogging
And hearing the kids laughter.
We feel very blessed to live
A ‘happily ever after.’

We’re so grateful for loved ones,
Both family and friends,
And for countless blessings
That the good Lord sends.

We’re especially grateful
To our Savior Jesus Christ
For the gift that He gave us
With His sacrifice.

We love you all and wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Scott, Elisa, Elisabeth, Charles and Annabelle Smith

P.S. We keep an updated family website which you can view by going to:

* Elisabeth sang a solo for the primary program at church. She sang in front of hundreds and it was beautiful!

What a creative way doing a newsletter. I think if I tried, Clark would laugh at me since my poems always turn out silly. I thought that was so cute!

I have the most talented roomies - between you, Mary, & Carrie - I never need to write my own poem again. I'll just ask you guys! It's such a clever card and I enjoyed reading it a lot. Merry Christmas!
